There are many oils on the market, we have never had a failure with thor oil. Every engine that has a fail, has blue oil in it or some generic oil. The oil is designed for single cylinder hi rev go kart engines and provide high lubrication at the rod to crank area since there is no bearing. Normal oils do not provide enough lubrication in this area at 6000 rpm.

Oil Change Intervals:
Change the oil after 200 laps (oval) of run time or 100 (road Course). Or change after every race weekend. We recommend the THOR RED OIL Light for the Honda engines and the animal/LO206. Honda120 12.0oz, Honda160 14.0oz, Briggs Animal or Lo206 14oz. World Formula  Thor Medium. Make sure to drain the oil at the end of the race day while the engine is still hot, you can put new oil in at this time.

120/160/Briggs Gear Box 3.0 ATF Trans Fluid.

These are race engines that once the governor is removed are being rev-ed to almost double the standard rpm of 3600. Fresh oil is the most important maintenance you can do. We will not service fails if you are using other oils. Thor Light, Med and amsoil red 4T are the only recommended oils. We have seen more fails with the “blue” oil than any other.
