Send us your engine for rebuild!

We rebuild our engines as well as other builder’s engines, new or used.

Important info to ship:

  • Drain all the fluids and include the complete engine, carb, throttle linkage, slide and everything to run it on the dyno.
  • We don't need the gear hub, clutch, engine mounting plate or the exhaust pipe.
  • For Honda engines, remove the spark plug cap to prevent damage and use ample packing material or foam.
  • Be sure to include your name, phone number, return address, and any special instructions or known issues.

ENGINE REBUILDS

Your engine will come back like brand new. We will remove all paint markings, grease, and oil, and replace any broken or damaged parts. It will return as a fully race-ready Krybaby engine.  Note: The cleaner you send it in, the less it will cost. Brake cleaner will remove most of the grease and oil. The more you care the more we care.

Most engine rebuilds can take 4-6 hours at $65 an hour, plus the cost of any parts. On a nice, clean engine, it's usually just a few gaskets and miscellaneous parts. If the engine doesn't run or lacks power, it could be a rod, rings, or crank issue, which can get expensive. If it's another builder's work, it takes time to check every dimension, weight, and we will improve it. If it's a Krybaby, it's always the cheapest rebuild since all the work has already been done—usually 4 hours or less.

If your engine was fast, it will be faster - we leave nothing on the table, and always find more.

We work on most single-cylinder race engines, including Honda Quarter Midget 120UT3, Honda 160, Briggs Animal/206, and Briggs World Formula. We also handle many kart engines and mini wedge engines, including Predators and Briggs, for both gas and alcohol.

However, we don't work on Honda UT2 or UT1 engines (they can't beat the newer UT3, and I won’t work on an engine unless we can win with it)

Engine manufacturers are in the business of selling engines and are making improvements as they release new versions. The latest versions are almost always better than the older ones.

We've noticed that with many brand engines, the later versions often have heavier parts, better airflow, or changes to the head or camshaft. All of these changes are designed to improve performance and efficiency.

BUT, if you already have a rocket engine, we can make it better. If you have a mid-pack turd, we can also improve it, but it most likely won't be a first-place engine. Not all engines are made of the same parts, but our engineering will be consistent on every one we build.

If a LO206 has a black seal, it's 8 years old and most likely has a lot of laps on it. Sealed blocks can't get new rings and are probably worn out. I can't tell you exactly how worn out it is without seeing it. We have orange seal engines that have been run for 5 seasons and are still fine, but the oil has been changed every race day. There are a lot of variables.

Send it in and we will see what you have and how we can make it better!
