This is used on all quarter midget engines and lo206 to hold the exhaust pipe or adapter in place. These are lock nuts so they will not loosen with the engine vibration. On these Briggs engines you should consider lock tight head studs so that you are not taking bolts in and out of the head frequently causing the threads to weaken.
